Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has now score more goals in La Liga this season than he managed in all of the 2023/24 campaign.
This comes owing to developments in Barcelona’s meeting with Rayo Vallecano.
The Blaugrana are of course currently locked in action, in a league meeting with Vallecano in Catalunya’s capital.
Hansi Flick’s troops headed into proceedings in the knowledge that an eventual victory would see them climb back to the summit of the Spanish top-flight table.
And, as things stand, this is precisely what Barca are headed towards.
This comes owing to a solitary strike on the part of the aforementioned Robert Lewandowski.
After a VAR check gave rise to a spot-kick for the hosts just shy of the half-hour mark, frontman Lewandowski stepped up to slot home in typically cool fashion.
As much means that the former Bayern Munich man has now found the net 20 times in league play this season.
This is one more than Lewandowski managed in the entirety of 2023/24, despite 14 games remaining in the La Liga campaign.
