Barcelona stand firm on valuation of their latest wonderkid

The future of Barcelona teenager Mikayil Faye remains unclear with negotiations between Barcelona and Porto continuing to stall. The La Liga side are standing firm on their valuation of the defender, however it is looking more likely that the Portuguese side will walk away from negotiations with Faye remaining at the Catalan club next season.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Barca’s request for Faye was clear. The Spanish giants wanted a €15m fixed fee, with a €30m buy back clause valid for 2025 and €32m buy back for 2026.

Barca also wanted a substantial sell-on clause in case of a future sale. However, Porto believe these demands are unreasonable and are yet to make an offer that matches these conditions.

The Primeria Liga outfit identified Faye as their priority target for the summer and have therefore pushed hard to secure his signature. Coaching staff and club officials believe the player has a lot of potential to be a key member of the first team in the future, meaning the club are reluctant to let him go on a permanent basis.

New manager Hansi Flick has already told Faye that he wants him to be part of the first team setup next season. Flick intends to include the 19-year-old in the pre-season camp so that he can be integrated into the first team.
