A headline member of the transfer wishlist at La Liga giants Barcelona looks all set to take his talents elsewhere with a view to the season ahead.
That’s according to a mounting number of sources on Tuesday evening, who point towards Federico Chiesa as the player in question.
Juventus star Chiesa has of course seen his name take its place front and centre in the transfer headlines across all of Europe over the course of recent days.
This comes as the efforts of the Juventus brass to push out the Italian international – not in the plans of new head coach Thiago Motta – inch ever closer to coming to fruition.
Initially considered as favourites for a deal were the aforementioned Barcelona, whose search for a new left winger is understood to have led them firmly to Chiesa’s doorstep.
After missing out on first-choice target Nico Williams, the Camp Nou brass earmarked the 26-year-old as the ideal low-cost, high-reward target.
In turn, it will no doubt come as a blow to the Blaugrana faithful to hear that, on Tuesday, Chiesa looks increasingly close to heading elsewhere.
As confirmed by the likes of David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano, the explosive wide-man is inching towards a move to England, with Liverpool.
Chiesa himself is understood to have green-lighted the transfer, which is quickly moving towards completion:
