Barcelona set to appoint Ronald Koeman as new head coach

Ronald Koeman could be announced as the new Barcelona head coach this week, according to Sid Lowe and Fabrizio Romano.

The current Netherlands national team boss is expected to take over at his former club this week. The decision to hire the Dutchman (57) was taken during a lengthy board meeting at Camp Nou on Monday, however a final agreement has yet to be finalised.

It is understood that the former Everton boss has been offered a two-year contract by the Catalan club, meanwhile current manager Quique Setién met with sporting director Eric Abidal in Barcelona as the club looked to reach an agreement for his imminent departure.
