La Liga champions Barcelona have early this week closed a deal to part with a member of the club’s goalkeeper ranks.
This comes amid confirmation that a definitive agreement has been reached with Greek outfit Panathinaikos, over the transfer of Iñaki Peña.
Shot-stopper Peña is for his part fresh off a season away from parent club Barcelona, after linking up with La Liga rivals Elche.
The 27-year-old from here went on to rack up 16 appearances in Spain’s top-flight, albeit with his last having come all the way back in early February.
And as alluded to above, along the way, Peña evidently did enough to convince those in the boardroom at Panathinaikos of his readiness to take over as no.1 in Athens.
As per a report from market insider Matteo Moretto:
‘Iñaki Peña to Panathinaikos is closed. The goalkeeper will sign a three-year contract with an option for a fourth year. Barcelona will receive about 3 million euros.’
