Barcelona receive offer for Mika Faye, with another in the works

An up-and-coming member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is the subject of mounting interest by way of the French top-flight.

That’s according to transfer insider Santi Aouna, who points towards Mikayil Faye as the player in question.

The name of stopper Faye has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for several months now.

This comes owing to widespread speculation surrounding the future of the Senegalese.

Amid something of a logjam at the heart of defence in Barcelona’s first-team setup, Deco and co. have seemingly identified Faye’s sale as something of a market opportunity.

The player has for his part impressed new boss Hansi Flick in pre-season, a development which had seen the speculation surrounding his name die down.

As alluded to above, though, on Wednesday, as much has flared up once more.

As per a report from French transfer expert Santi Aouna:

‘Monaco are very interested in Mikayil Faye, the central defender of FC Barcelona. Initial contacts have already taken place.’

Not only that, but another Ligue 1 club, in the form of Nice, have already gone as far as to table an opening offer for Faye.
