An early four-way tie has emerged atop the goalscoring charts in La Liga this season. And it features three of the Spanish top-flight’s most recognisable attacking stars.
After finding the net twice against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday night, current Pichichi holder Kylian Mbappé drew level with previous sole leader Raphinha, with six goals apiece.
Raphinha was back in action in the colours of Barcelona on Sunday, and managed to lay on a pair of assists, but failed to add to his goalscoring tally in a 4-2 downing of Levante.
Instead, Blaugrana teammate Lamine Yamal was at the double, to join both Mbappé and Raphinha atop the Pichichi standings after five gameweeks.
And there is still room for one more, namely Rayo Vallecano’s Sergio Camello, who managed a consolation strike to keep alive his thoroughly impressive opening to the term at the Santiago Bernabéu yesterday evening.
The race to be Spanish football’s best goalscorer for 2026/27 is well and truly on.
