Members of the first-team ranks at Spanish football’s two leading clubs could link up at Dutch heavyweights Ajax this summer.
This comes with new manager Míchel eyeing high-profile reinforcements to his playing setup in Amsterdam.
After bringing a close to his stint on the Girona bench following the Catalans’ relegation last month, Míchel was this week announced as the man tasked with leading Ajax into a new era.
Planning for next season has, in turn, already begun, with the Spaniard having turned focus back towards his home country.
Recent days have seen reports mount that Ajax are closing on a deal to bring Dani Ceballos to The Johan Cruyff Arena from Real Madrid.
And according to Mundo Deportivo, also on the radar of Míchel and co. is Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen.
After convincing Ter Stegen to take his talents to Girona during the January transfer window, the 50-year-old is now hopeful of repeating the trick in the Dutch capital:
‘Míchel would like to bring Marc-André ter Stegen to his new project at Ajax.’
Ter Stegen is of course out of favour at Barcelona at present, set to be available for transfer over the months ahead.
