Barcelona president Laporta’s furious reaction to Granada draw revealed

An insight into the extent of the anger showcased by Barcelona president Joan Laporta on Sunday night has come to the fore online.

This, of course, comes fresh off another outing to forget for all associated with Barca.

Xavi’s troops marked their return to La Liga action yesterday evening, welcoming a relegation-battling Granada outfit to Catalunya with sights set on a third successive win.

When all was said and done, however, the Blaugrana’s efforts fell short.

Owing to a dismal defensive display, the evening’s hosts were forced to settle for a share of the spoils, in a remarkable 3-3 stalemate.

Barcelona, as a result, have fallen a full ten points off arch rivals Real Madrid atop the La Liga table.

And, safe to say, as much did not go down at all well in the director’s box at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

As revealed by Catalunya Ràdio, Joan Laporta completely lost control of his emotions on the back of the full-time whistle bringing a close to proceedings on Sunday.

As confirmed by several eye witnesses, Barca’s president was first heard screaming in anger, before later throwing a tray of canapés across the room.

Though Xavi assured in his post-match press conference that all was well with Laporta, the news paints a picture of an increasingly tense situation behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
