Barcelona president Laporta aims dig at Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has this evening taken aim at arch rivals Real Madrid once again.

Tensions between Spanish football’s two biggest clubs have of course reached boiling point over the course of the last couple of days.

This comes amid the ongoing fallout from Real’s controversial comeback victory over Almería on Sunday.

After Los Blancos were the beneficiaries of a whole host of refereeing decisions, both Barcelona boss Xavi Hernández, and the aforementioned Laporta, aimed less-than-subtle digs at those on the other side of the Clásico divide.

This has since been followed by Real Madrid TV hitting back at the former, by essentially calling into question the validity of his trophy haul as a Barcelona player owing to the ongoing ‘Negreira case’.

And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday, yet another chapter has been written.

Speaking as part of an interview with Mundo Deportivo (as cited by Goal), Barca president Laporta made use of the opportunity to direct a whole host of critiques at Real Madrid.

Perhaps the most noteworthy of all, though, came upon the Spanish patron being questioned on which of the controversial VAR decisions surprised him most in Los Blancos’ downing of Almería.

And he went on to highlight the visitors’ disallowed 3rd goal, which came about after Jude Bellingham, as Laporta put it, conned the referee into believing that he had been fouled:

“Apart from the fact that Madrid’s two goals were preceded, the first by a foul and the other by a great Zamorana, in the disallowed goal against Almería I see that Bellingham grabs the opposing player’s shirt. There is a detail that for those of us who have played soccer I think this is illustrative: when Bellingham is on the ground he looks askance at the referee, as if saying ‘let’s see if I have deceived him or not.’ And the play then continues and it is a legal goal for me.”
