La Liga giants Barcelona are giving consideration to a summer offer for a member of the defensive ranks at Premier League champions Arsenal.
This comes amid claims of the Blaugrana having set their sights on the signature of Piero Hincapié.
Stopper Hincapié has spent the 2025/26 campaign plying his trade on loan in north London, from parent club Bayer Leverkusen.
Having played a leading role in Mikel Arteta’s defensive ranks, though, the widespread understanding is that Arsenal intend to activate their option to make his signing permanent.
And yet, word stemming from the English media this week suggests the Gunners could face a battle in keeping hold of the Ecuadorian for next season.
As per a report from the Daily Mail:
‘Barcelona are weighing up an approach for Arsenal defender Piero Hincapié but recognise it will be a difficult deal to pull off.’
After pulling the plug on their swoop for Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni, Hincapié appears to have been identified as the ideal alternative by the Barca hierarchy.
