Two members of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona were forced to sit out group training on Saturday.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who highlight Fermín López and Marc Bernal as the pair in question.
Barcelona are of course fresh off something of a week to forget all told when it comes to the club’s season goals.
After locking horns with La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid in the return leg of a Champions League quarter-final tie, the Blaugrana were ultimately sent packing from the competition.
This means that the only remaining goal for Hansi Flick’s troops to close out the campaign is retaining their Spanish top-flight crown.
Next up for Barca in their quest towards as much is a meeting with Celta Vigo this coming Wednesday.
As alluded to above, though, amid ongoing preparations for the fixture, the Catalans were on Saturday unable to call on a pair of engine room stars.
As per a report from MD, alongside long-term absentees Andreas Christensen and Raphinha, Fermín López and Marc Bernal missed training at the Ciutat Esportiva this morning.
In the case of the former, this comes owing to a facial injury, whilst youngster Bernal is dealing with an ankle problem.
Both, as a result, remain doubts to face Celta Vigo in four days’ time.
