Barcelona pair sit out training before Real Sociedad

Two leading members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona were absent from the club’s group training session on Saturday.

As much was confirmed by head coach Hansi Flick this afternoon.

Barcelona are of course set to return to action tomorrow night, in a La Liga meeting with Real Sociedad.

The Blaugrana will head into the matchup with confidence high in the camp, eyeing an 8th successive victory across all competitions.

The club’s supporters will, in turn, no doubt be interested to learn that two of their side’s star performers – in Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo – played no part in group training this morning.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference a short time ago, Hansi Flick confirmed that wide-man Lamine was put through an individualised session on Saturday:

“Lamine did specific strength work. He has played a lot and we’ll see how he feels tomorrow.”

Flick then provided an insight into the wellbeing of Dani Olmo, who fell ill on Friday night:

“Dani Olmo felt a little unwell, uncomfortable during the night. This morning he was a little better, they are treating him and we’ll see, although I think he’ll be ready for tomorrow.”
