The brass at Barcelona have made contact with their counterparts at La Liga rivals Valencia, over a potential deal for a leading member of Los Che’s midfield ranks.
That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Javi Guerra as the player in question.
Guerra, for his part, is fresh off a stellar individual campaign on the books of the aforementioned Valencia in 2023/24.
Establishing himself as a pivotal figure in Los Che’s ranks in the middle of the park, the deep-lying midfielder managed appearances in all but two of the club’s La Liga outings.
Guerra also managed to chip in in the attacking third, to the tune of a solid haul of four goals.
And such exploits, evidently, did not go at all unnoticed across either the Spanish football landscape, or the continent as a whole.
As per a report from AS, no fewer than four clubs have been in touch with Valencia this summer, regarding a potential deal for the 21-year-old.
Most prominent among them were Barcelona, who are continuing to seek out fresh blood for the engine room ranks of new head coach Hansi Flick.
But also hot on the trail of Guerra are all of Napoli, Real Sociedad, and Girona.
The latter are currently considered favourites to strike a deal, close to meeting Valencia’s €20-25 million price-tag after seeing an opening offer for the Spaniard rebuffed.
