Barcelona now have the two youngest goalscorers in UCL history in their squad

Both of the two youngest goalscorers in the history of the Champions League are now plying their trade with La Liga giants Barcelona.

This comes owing to developments in the Blaugrana’s latest outing on the continent, on Thursday night.

Hansi Flick’s troops are of course currently locked in action, in a meeting with Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco.

The matchup could not have gotten off to a worse start for Barcelona, who found themselves both a man and a goal down inside the opening quarter of an hour.

Cometh the hour, though, and cometh the man…

With his side toiling in efforts to conjure up an equaliser, youngster Lamine Yamal took the game by the scruff of the neck, cutting inside onto his trusty left foot before picking out the bottom corner of the Monaco net with aplomb.

And, in the process, wide-man Lamine secured for himself fresh history.

Aged 17 years and 68 days old, the Spanish international is now the 2nd-youngest player to ever score in the Champions League.

The only player to have managed as much at an earlier age? Teammate Ansu Fati (17y,40d).
