On-loan Atlético Madrid star João Félix has today risked the wrath of the club’s fanbase once more.
This comes owing to a round of comments regarding ongoings behind the scenes at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Frontman Félix, of course, secured a fresh departure from Atlético Madrid last summer, linking up with La Liga rivals Barcelona for the duration of the term.
And, in the time since, the Portuguese has not been at all shy in confirming his hope that, come the season’s close, the Blaugrana brass will move to make his arrival a permanent one.
As much, alongside Félix’s celebration after finding the net against Atléti late last year, has left a sour taste in the mouth of many of a Rojiblancos persuasion, eager for the 24-year-old’s ties with the club to be cut at the earliest opportunity.
Such fans, in turn, will no doubt be less than pleased to hear of the club’s on-loan attacker, on Monday, aiming another less-than-subtle dig at their side.
Speaking in an interview with Catalunya Radio’s Tot Costa, Félix was drawn on some of the key differences between life at Atlético, and Barcelona.
And, in his response, the one-time Benfica talent pointed towards the former as being overly focused on their city rivals:
“I wasn’t used to it at Atlético Madrid, there they talked a lot about Real Madrid… Here at Barça, it’s different, we talk a lot about Barça.”
He continued:
“When things are good, it’s one thing, but when they’re bad, there’s so much talk about it that it ends up affecting some people.”
