The son of a former member of the attacking ranks at Barcelona has been called up by Rayo Vallecano for Monday’s meeting between the sides.
Barcelona are of course set to lock horns with Rayo later this evening.
In the final fixture of the gameweek in La Liga, Hansi Flick’s troops will play host to the high-flying capital outfit, at Montjuïc.
The matchup marks an altogether significant one for the former, in the knowledge that a victory would see them jump from third to top spot in the Spanish top-flight table.
For Rayo, though, it is also an important one, amid the Franjirrojos’ surprise push for European football.
And as alluded to above, in efforts on the part of the latter to secure what would be a shock three points, potentially set to play his part is the son of a Barcelona legend.
As much comes amid confirmation that Etienne Eto’o, son of ex-Blaugrana frontman Samuel, has been afforded a call-up for Monday’s fixture.
Eto’o, also a striker, has found the net an impressive 18 times for Rayo’s reserves this season.
