Former Barcelona star Sergio Busquets has on Sunday evening sent a message of support the way of current Blaugrana youngster Gavi.
This, of course, comes after Gavi marked his long-awaited return to the pitch.
Barcelona were back in action a short time ago, welcoming Sevilla to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.
The Blaugrana ultimately emerged on the right side of a dominant 5-1 scoreline, owing to goals on the part of Robert Lewandowski (2), Pedri and Pablo Torre (2).
And yet, as alluded to above, it was the aforementioned Gavi who truly stole the headlines on the night.
With a little less than ten minutes remaining in proceedings, the Spanish international was called to the sideline by head coach Hansi Flick.
From here, Gavi was handed the captain’s armband by midfield partner Pedri, before stepping foot on the pitch for the first time since all the way back in late-2023.
Messages of congratulations and support have since come flooding in for Gavi, from across the football landscape.
And, as alluded to above, adding his name to this list a short time ago was none other than Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets.
Taking to his official Instagram account, Inter Miami midfielder Busquets unveiled a photo of Gavi and Pedri, accompanied by the caption:
“I’m so happy to see you back, Gavi.”
