Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta sends message to Pedri after injury blow

Former Barcelona star Andrés Iniesta has taken to social media, to send a message of support to current Blaugrana midfielder Pedri.

As much, of course, comes after the latter was dealt the latest considerable injury setback in his fledgling career.

After being afforded a starting berth in Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Athletic Club on Sunday, Pedri lasted just 45 minutes, before succumbing to a thigh injury.

Spotted in tears on the Blaugrana bench at San Mamés, it has since been revealed that the 21-year-old is expected to miss between five and six weeks of action.

This comes with Pedri having suffered a relapse of a previous muscle tear, for the 2nd time since August.

In a post across his social platforms on Monday evening, the Spanish international, in turn, admitted that ‘It’s hard to stop and start again after all the effort and work’ put into his recovery.

It will no doubt come as a boost for Pedri, though, to hear that his efforts towards a fresh return to the pitch have the backing of one of his club’s greatest-ever players.

Taking to the comments section of the midfielder’s post on ‘X’, the aforementioned Andrés Iniesta replied with a simple message:

‘Good luck, friend’
