La Liga giants Barcelona have been made aware of the sum likely to be required to strike a deal for LOSC Lille star Lucas Chevalier.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have confirmed that the talented shot-stopper will not come on the cheap.
The name of goalkeeper Chevalier has emerged as a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the last couple of weeks.
This comes amid the widespread understanding that the Frenchman has been identified as a leading transfer target on the part of Barcelona.
The Camp Nou brass are on the lookout for reinforcements between the posts with a view to next season, owing to all of the long-term injury suffered by Marc-André ter Stegen, Wojciech Szczęsny’s short-term contract, and uncertainty surrounding Iñaki Peña’s readiness to take up no.1 duties.
Chevalier, long making a name for himself as one of the standout goalkeepers in his home country of France, has in turn been earmarked by Deco and co. as a chief option.
As alluded to above, though, if the Blaugrana are serious about striking a deal for the 22-year-old, then they will need to pay up.
As per Sport:
‘Barça are convinced that Lucas Chevalier, who has a contract until 2027, will not leave Lille for less than 40 million euros.’
