Chelsea fullback Marcos Alonso is a serious transfer candidate for FC Barcelona, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Barcelona have reportedly already started direct contacts with Chelsea and Alonso to explore the possibility of a summer move to Camp Nou. Alonso is one of three or four left-back options being considered by the Barcelona board to deputise for Jordi Alba next season.
Reportedly, Alonso has also expressed his intention to return to Spain in the summer. However, he will be respectful to Chelsea during any transfer process, according to Romano.
Marcos Alonso is a Real Madrid youth product. Currently in his sixth season at Stamford Bridge, Alonso’s contract is due to run out in the summer of 2023.
Barcelona have notably also been linked to Álex Grimaldo and Javi Galán among others in recent weeks, as they search for a left-back option.
