Barcelona in contact with Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard

Barcelona have been contacted by Benjamin Pavard’s representatives regarding a possible transfer, report Mundo Deportivo.

Last year it was communicated that the Catalan side are interested in signing Pavard as they only have one natural right-back at the club in the form of Héctor Bellerín.

It is believed that the 26-year-old is keen to leave Bayern Munich this coming summer and the player’s representatives have already established contact with the Blaugrana.

Pavard’s contract with the Bavarian outfit is set to expire in June 2024 and Barcelona would be keen to bring bring the Frenchman to the Nou Camp at a cut-price.

However, with Jules Koundé at the club as well, who was France’s first-choice right-back at the World Cup at the end of last year, it would remain to be seen whether Pavard would play as a full-back or in his preferred centre-back position if he joins Barcelona.
