La Liga leaders Barcelona have set their sights on the signature of a soon-to-be out of contract member of the defensive ranks at Dutch giants Ajax.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who highlight Devyne Rensch as the player in question.
Rensch, for his part, is a 21-year-old right-back, who has long been making a name for himself as one of the Eredivisie’s leading talents.
A youth international with The Netherlands, too, the youngster has racked up 17 appearances in Ajax’s colours this season, chipping in with a goal and an assist along the way.
And, along the way, Rensch has done enough to pique the attentions of the transfer team at the aforementioned Barcelona.
Amid their ongoing search for reinforcements at full-back with a view to next season, the Dutchman has been earmarked as a leading option on the part of Deco and co.
As per Sport:
‘His profile fits what Barça are looking for, a complement on the right, at an affordable price and with the ability to develop.’
Rensch, as things stand, will be available for free next summer, with his contract terms with Ajax due to expire, and a renewal agreement yet to be found.
