La Liga giants Barcelona have sent a proposal the way of a leading member of the first-team ranks at Premier League outfit Aston Villa.
That’s according to South American outlet DSports, who point towards Emiliano Martínez as the player in question.
Goalkeeper Martínez is widely expected to be on the move this summer.
Having reportedly come to the decision to seek out a new challenge for the 2025/26 campaign, the World Cup winner has been hotly tipped for a Saudi Pro League switch.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word doing the rounds in the media this weekend is anything to go by, then Martínez could yet remain in Europe, at an altogether more high-profile club…
As per DSports:
‘Emiliano Martínez has offers from Manchester United and Barcelona to leave Aston Villa.’
In the case of the latter, Barcelona, it would appear, are on the lookout for reinforcements between the posts amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the futures of both Wojciech Szczęsny and Iñaki Peña.
