Barcelona have today been afforded some timely positive news on the personnel front.
This comes by way of confirmation that frontman João Félix has returned to first-team training ahead of schedule.
Félix, of course, has not featured in any of Barcelona’s last four outings, owing to an ankle injury suffered whilst training late last month.
As much was originally expected to keep the on-loan Atlético Madrid man sidelined for a stretch of around four weeks.
This would have seen Félix ruled out for the Blaugrana’s upcoming Champions League showdown with Napoli, and ensuing La Liga clash against Getafe.
In turn, it will no doubt come as a source of excitement for the club’s fanbase to hear that, in fact, their Portuguese attacker could yet feature in both.
As per a report from Toni Juanmartí of Diario AS, Félix linked back up with the rest of Xavi’s squad in full training on Monday.
The 24-year-old is said to have enjoyed a ‘significant improvement’ over recent days, and felt little discomfort whilst back in action this morning.
Should as much remain the case over the coming 48 hours, Félix, in turn, is expected to be included in Barcelona’s squad bound for Italy, for the club’s Champions League Last-16 first leg meeting with Scudetto holders Napoli.
