Barcelona handed double injury boost before Brest clash

La Liga giants Barcelona have seen two members of the club’s first-team squad passed fit to feature against Stade Brestois this week.

That’s according to Barca insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, who has provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Hansi Flick’s troops are of course primed to return to action tomorrow night.

After being held to a 2-2 draw in their post-international break return against Celta Vigo on Saturday, the Blaugrana will turn attentions back towards matters on the continent, in a Champions League meeting with Ligue 1 outfit Brest.

And, in efforts to secure a swift return to winning ways, Flick and co. will be boosted by the availability of two returning players.

As per AS, Alejandro Balde and Eric García trained as normal with the rest of their teammates at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Monday.

The latter was forced to sit out over the weekend with a niggling hamstring issue, whilst Eric has been sidelined for over a month now with an adductor injury.

Both, though, are set to be given the green light to play their part against Brest.

*Update* – Hansi Flick has since announced that Balde, in fact, is not available for the clash.
