Ansu Fati has been given Barcelona’s famous number 10 shirt.
The young forward will wear Lionel Messi’s old number after his 21-year association with Barcelona came to an end in August.
Messi had worn the number 10 since Ronaldinho’s left the Camp Nou outfit in 2008. There had been suggestions Barca would leave the number unoccupied, but the club confirmed on Wednesday that Ansu Fati will inherit it.
The 18-year-old had been out of action since tearing the meniscus in his left knee in November 2020. He is, however, now back in first-team training and could return to action after the international break.
