Supporters of Barcelona have on Saturday evening made crystal clear their collective feelings that the club were denied what should have been a first-half penalty vs Atlético Madrid.
Hansi Flick’s Barca are of course currently locked in La Liga action, at Montjuïc.
In a top-of-the-table showdown in Spain’s top-flight, Hansi Flick’s troops have welcomed in-form Atlético to Catalunya’s capital, desperate for a return to winning ways.
And, as things stand, a bounce-back result is precisely what the Blaugrana find themselves headed towards.
This comes owing to a moment of individual brilliance on the part of Pedri, which saw the Spanish international combine with midfielder partner-in-crime Gavi, before picking out the far corner of Jan Oblak’s net.
This, as alluded to above, though, only came after Barcelona were denied what they felt was a clear-cut penalty.
After the ball was delivered across the face of Atlético’s goal, it bounced up awkwardly at the back post, before striking Giuliano Simeone, and going behind.
Ensuing replays showcased the fact that the ball had clearly struck Simeone’s arm, albeit completely accidentally.
The Barca faithful, though, quickly made clear their collective take that a spot-kick should nevertheless have been swiftly awarded, with their side the victims of a major injustice on the part of the team of officials:
