Barcelona facing major injury concerns ahead of Europa League second leg with Manchester United

Gavi will miss Barcelona’s second-leg tie with Manchester United at Old Trafford next Thursday.

The Andalusian was yellow carded for a foul on United player Fred in the 74th minute of the thrilling first-leg tie at Camp Nou and will now miss the return leg next week through suspension.

Barça will also be without fellow midfielder Pedri in Manchester. The Spain international was forced off with a muscular problem in the first half of the 2-2 draw on Thursday night and was replaced by the versatile Sergi Roberto.

Mundo Deportivo report that Pedri’s previous injury also came in the Europa League last season, against Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-final second leg clash at Camp Nou.

The Tegueste native joins Sergio Busquets and Ousmane Dembélé on the injury list at the Catalan club.

Busquets could, however, be fit to play at Old Trafford after spraining his ankle in the recent league win over Sevilla.
