Barcelona discover Raphinha’s fate after post-match rant vs Real Betis

All associated with La Liga giants Barcelona have on Sunday breathed a collective sigh of relief.

This comes amid confirmation that star attacker Raphinha is not facing up to any form of punishment for his actions on the back of the club’s latest outing.

Raphinha grabbed the headlines on Saturday night, for altogether less than positive reasons.

After Barcelona were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Real Betis, the Brazilian allowed his emotions to get the better of him.

Raphinha was spotted in a furious tirade against the team of officials, forcing teammates Robert Lewandowski and Marc-André ter Stegen, and even manager Hansi Flick to intervene.

Such actions had given rise to fears that the 28-year-old could be facing up to some form of suspension, a development which would mark a heavy blow for Barca at such a crucial point in the season.

As confirmed on Sunday evening, however, no such sanction will be forthcoming.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘There will be no sanction for Barça player Raphinha. Referee Gil Manzano did not add anything to his report, which includes nothing about the Brazilian’s protests.’
