La Liga giants Barcelona could secure the signature of a long-standing transfer target for a cut-price fee during the January transfer window.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Antoñito Cordero as the player in question.
Antoñito, for his part, is an 18-year-old striker, who has long been considered one of Spanish football’s standout up-and-coming talents.
The starlet was the subject of intense interest on the part of Barcelona over the summer, with the Camp Nou hierarchy having gone as far as to table an offer for his services.
In the end, as much was rebuffed by Málaga, determined to secure what they felt was market value in return for their crown jewel.
Following the turn of the year, though, such endeavours on the part of the Blaugrana could prove altogether more fruitful.
As per the aforementioned Sport, Málaga have dropped their demands for Antoñito to just €2 million for January.
This comes with the young attacker having made clear that he has no intention of extending his terms with the club, due to expire in the summer.
Barcelona, in turn, have been tipped to return to the table over the weeks ahead, with a view to finally pushing a deal for Antoñito’s signature over the line.
