Barcelona confirm the injuries of Memphis Depay and Frenkie de Jong

Barcelona have confirmed that Memphis Depay and Frenkie de Jong are ruled out due to injuries, report Marca.

The two Dutch players were called up to represent the Netherlands in the final two games of the Nations League. However, both players travelled back to Barcelona due to injuries that they picked up on international duty.

According to medical tests completed yesterday afternoon, Depay injured his femoral biceps of the left leg and De Jong has an elongation of the semitendinosus muscle in his left leg.

The two players are currently not part of the squad as they are unable to participate in Xavi’s training sessions. The club at the moment do not know the length of time they would be sidelined for.

The current international break cost the Catalan side dearly as in addition to De Jong and Depay, Jules Koundé and Ronald Araújo also picked up injuries whilst away on international duty. It is yet to be determined whether discomfort in Ousmane Dembélé’s calf will rule him out for the Balugrana’s upcoming matches.
