Barcelona come to decision on Vitor Roque plans for next season

An update on the immediate future of youngster Vitor Roque at La Liga giants Barcelona has today been forthcoming online.

And the news will no doubt represent a source of relief to all those desperate to see Roque make a name for himself in Barcelona’s colours at the earliest opportunity.

This comes amid confirmation that the Brazilian is set to stay put in Catalunya’s capital next season.

Frontman Roque of course linked up with Barca during the January window, after seeing his arrival from Athletico Paranaense fast-tracked by six months.

The attacker, still just 19, however, has since found game-time somewhat difficult to come by, struggling in efforts to overtake the more established Robert Lewandowski and João Félix in the pecking order of boss Xavi.

With Roque, to date, having been afforded just a solitary La Liga start, murmurs had in turn begun to spread in the media that a loan move away from Barcelona could be on the cards for the Brazilian international this summer.

If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then this will not prove to be the case.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘The decision of the Barça club is that Vitor Roque completes his adaptation period with the team in the remainder of the season and next year he starts from scratch with the rest of his teammates.’

As much comes with both the coaching staff and those in the boardroom happy with Roque’s contributions, adamant that the youngster simply requires ‘time’, before an eventual explosion onto the scene in Spain and Europe alike.
