Barcelona chief speaks on possible Haaland & Nico Williams signings

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has spoken out on the potential arrivals of a pair of high-profile attackers at the club in the near future.

Barca, of course, are fresh off securing the club’s latest La Liga title.

Owing to a 2-0 victory over city rivals Espanyol last week, the Blaugrana put themselves out of sight of 2nd-placed Real Madrid in the Spanish top-flight table.

As much means that, in Hansi Flick’s debut campaign at the club, Barcelona have racked up a domestic treble.

The Catalans, though, are already hungry for more…

Deco and the board at the Camp Nou are understood to have kicked into gear efforts towards adding to Hansi Flick’s squad through the transfer market this summer.

Speaking to the media early this week, the names of two players long linked with a move to Barcelona were in turn put to the aforementioned Joan Laporta.

The pair in question? Erling Haaland, and Nico Williams.

Barca’s president, during an interview with TV3 (as cited by Diario Sport), however, was keen to play such links down, in explaining:

“In life almost nothing is impossible but I think that at the moment such an incorporation is not what we are thinking”

“Nico Williams was one of the candidates last season but we decided on Olmo and at the moment other options are being evaluated.”
