Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick requested his players to target what he perceived to be a weak link in the Real Madrid backline, in this past weekend’s El Clásico.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Lucas Vázquez as the player in question.
Spanish international Vázquez was of course tasked with filling in at right-back once more on Saturday, amid the long-term injury absence of Dani Carvajal.
During the first-half of the clash, the 33-year-old looked largely comfortable, despite the threat posed by the in-form Raphinha.
This all changed, however, on the far side of the half-time break.
As per a report from Sport, Hansi Flick at the interval requested his Barcelona players to better exploit the mismatch down the Blaugrana’s left.
And this was a game-plan which the Catalans executed to perfection during the 2nd-half, as Raphinha and Alejandro Balde both shone bright.
The former notched a goal and an assist, whilst defender Balde bagged an assist of his own, too, as Hansi Flick’s tactical acumen paid dividends for Barcelona once more.
