Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has this weekend provided his take on the imminent departure of defensive star Ronald Araújo from the club.
Defender Araújo has of course dominated the headlines across all of Europe over the last 48 hours. This comes after word was forthcoming, out of the blue, that the Uruguayan had agreed to take his talents to the Premier League.
Araújo is primed to line out in the colours of Liverpool on loan for the duration of the 2026/27 campaign.
Once considered one of the first names on the team sheet at Barcelona, the 27-year-old’s Blaugrana stint, as a result, could yet come to a permanent close in largely disappointing fashion.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of a pre-season mini tournament played out in Italy this weekend, the aforementioned Hansi Flick was therefore drawn on Araújo’s imminent exit.
And the German tactician went on to explain:
“Ronald is a good player and a good person. For me, he’s a player with a lot of speed and physicality. We haven’t been able to include him as much as we would have liked.”
