Barcelona boss Flick considers one area to be ‘the most lacking’ in his squad

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is of the opinion that his squad is in serious need of reinforcements at full-back.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Barcelona are of course fresh off a fine opening to the new campaign, which sees them sitting pretty atop the La Liga table courtesy of eight wins from nine.

And yet, new boss Flick, ever the perfectionist, is seeking more.

As per the aforementioned Sport, over the early months of his stint in the dugout in Barcelona, the German tactician has concluded that his squad is short on full-back options.

Right-back is the more pressing of the two, with Deco and co. having already begun drawing up a list of potential signings as a result.

But Flick is also keen to secure fresh blood on the left of his backline, by way of a player boasting ‘a different profile’ to Alejandro Balde, and Gerard Martín.
