La Liga giants Barcelona were on Tuesday afforded a timely boost on the personnel front.
This comes after Andreas Christensen was spotted back in group training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad.
Defender Christensen has for his part taken to the pitch in a competitive setting just once this season, all the way back in August.
This comes after the Danish international was forced under the knife to deal with a long-term Achilles concern.
Fresh off a return to fitness last month, it in turn came as a blow for club and player alike upon Christensen suffering a setback in the form of a calf injury.
The former Chelsea man had spent the weeks since back on the treatment table, before being spotted back out on the grass for the first time last week.
And as alluded to above, on Tuesday, Christensen took another significant step towards competitive action.
This comes after the 28-year-old rejoined Hansi Flick’s squad in group training at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
