Barcelona boost as expected midfield trio to face PSG confirmed

An insight into the plans of the coaching staff at La Liga giants Barcelona for the club’s midfield setup to face Paris Saint-Germain later today has been forthcoming online.

And the news will no doubt be met with widespread excitement on the part of the Barcelona fanbase.

Xavi’s troops, of course, will mark their return to action on Wednesday night.

Turning attentions back towards matters on the continent, the Blaugrana will make the trip to the Parc des Princes, for the first leg of the club’s Champions League quarter-final tie with the aforementioned PSG.

In the days leading up to the clash, widespread speculation has centered on the Catalans’ plans in the middle of the park.

As much comes with Pedri, Frenkie de Jong and Andreas Christensen fresh off respective spells on the sidelines.

Speaking on Tuesday, Xavi confirmed that the former two of this trio are fit and ready to feature against PSG.

Doubts, however, remained when it comes to Christensen’s availability, with the Dane’s status for the matchup having been contingent on a final training session on Tuesday evening.

As per a report from Javi Miguel of Diario AS, though, those of a Barcelona persuasion need not fret.

This comes with Christensen having come through the session in question with ‘good feelings’, therefore in line to take his place in a midfield three alongside Frenkie de Jong, and İlkay Gündoğan.
