The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona opted against informing defender Andreas Christensen of a winter offer for his services.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Tuesday provided an insight the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
The name of stopper Christensen of course proved a prominent one in the headlines at Barcelona throughout January.
This came amid speculation linking the Dane with a potential departure from the Camp Nou.
Owing to a long-term injury to open the campaign, Christensen finds himself well down the central defensive pecking order in Hansi Flick’s Barca squad at present.
In turn, it was suggested that, in the case of a proposal deemed as sufficient landing on the Blaugrana’s desks, a sale would be sanctioned.
And one offer, it has today been revealed, was indeed forthcoming for Christensen.
As per a report from Sport, an unnamed Bundesliga club made contact with Deco and co, to table a formal bid.
So short was the offer of Barcelona’s asking price, however, that the news was not even passed on to the former Chelsea man himself.
Christensen is understood to be happy to stay put for the remainder of the campaign, to fight for his place in Hansi Flick’s backline.
