Barcelona beware: PSG star Kylian Mbappé left furious by Champions League first leg

An insight into the post-match feelings of Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé, on the back of his side’s meeting with Barcelona in midweek, has today come to the fore online.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, citing the reliable Le Parisien, who point towards PSG’s talisman as having been furious on the back of the full-time whistle in France’s capital.

Luis Enrique’s troops, of course, were condemned to the wrong side of a 3-2 result in the opening leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with the aforementioned Barcelona.

As much means that the latter will head into the tie’s return leg in Catalunya boasting favourite status to advance.

The aforementioned Mbappé, meanwhile, for his part disappointed across the 90 minutes at the Parc des Princes.

In fact, kept almost entirely under wraps by Blaugrana pair Jules Koundé and Ronald Araújo, the 25-year-old failed to direct a single shot on target.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear that Mbappé’s post-match anger came in large part owing to disappointment with the level of his own display.

The winger is aware that the world – including his future employers at Real Madrid – was watching on Wednesday, therefore livid with himself for not stepping up when it was most needed.

Mbappé, as a result, will head into the tie’s 2nd leg intent on running riot at Montjuïc, to reiterate his status as, on his day, arguably world football’s best player.
