Barcelona begin Ousmane Dembélé renewal talks

Barcelona have contacted Ousmane Dembélé’s agent Moussa Sissoko regarding the renewal of the Frenchman’s contract, report Mundo Deportivo.

With the closing of the transfer window, the Blaugrana are beginning to plan the current squad’s future and begin renewal negotiations with players who are contracted at the Nou Camp. Yesterday it was communicated that Barcelona have offered a new contract to Sergi Roberto.

Barça are now prioritising the renewal of Dembélé. The 25-year-old deal is only valid until June 2024 and the club want to offer him a long-term extension. The France international’s release clause will drop to €50m in the summer period, which is within reach for most Premier League sides.

Both Xavi and the Barcelona board want the Frenchman to continue and they are very happy with his performance this season. Dembélé is also keen to extend his stay on the Catalan coast and an agreement will probably be reached soon.
