Barcelona beat Pumas 6-0 to win Gamper Trophy

Barcelona beat Pumas 6-0 at Camp Nou on Sunday night to win the Gamper Trophy.

Xavi’s side got off to a flyer, as Pedri played Robert Lewandowski through for the first goal. The Polish striker took it around the keeper before scoring from a tight angle to score his first goal for the club and put the Blaugrana ahead.

Lewandowksi then picked out Pedri and the Spain international went around Pumas keeper González to score and double Barcelona’s lead.

Fresh from signing a deal at Camp Nou until 2024, Ousmane Dembélé scored a third in the 10th minute, after new signing Raphinha picked out the Frenchman, whose low drive flew past González.

In the 18th minute, Lewandowski found Pedri with a sublime flick and the latter scored past González with a low finish to give Barca a 4-0 lead and it was game over at that stage.

Substitutes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Frenkie de Jong came off the bench to score in the second half as Barca ran out 6-0 winners.

New signing Jules Koundé made his debut for the Catalan side in the second half.

Barcelona take on Rayo Vallecano in their La Liga opener next weekend.
