Barcelona add Arsenal & Napoli stars to winger target shortlist

A fresh insight into the plans of the powers that be at Spanish giants Barcelona to reinforce the club’s attacking ranks this summer has been provided in the early hours of Thursday.

The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, who point towards two new profiles as having been added to the Blaugrana’s watchlist with a view to next season.

The players in question? Gabriel Martinelli, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

It is now common knowledge across the continent that Deco and his team of directors in Catalunya have identified Barcelona’s left wing as being in need of reinforcement in the summer.

In turn, the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion standout Kaoru Mitoma, and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, are being monitored with a close eye.

Aware that they may well need to expand their search owing to the club’s long-standing financial constraints, though, Barca, according to the aforementioned MD, have this week identified another pair of potential additions.

First comes Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli.

The Brazilian’s directness and eye for goal are both understood to be highly appreciated in Catalunya’s capital, with the Blaugrana as a result ‘closely following’ his situation in north London.

And also piquing the attentions of Deco and co. is Napoli sensation Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Though his form this season has not been quite to the same level as that displayed by Kvaratskhelia in Napoli’s Scudetto-winning campaign, the Georgian is still considered one of Europe’s finest attacking talents, primed to explode once more in the right environment.
