Barcelona 1st, Real Madrid 2nd: La Liga season’s leading dribblers

A leading member of the attacking ranks at Barcelona is narrowly leading Real Madrid standout Vinícius Jr. when it comes to attempted dribbles in La Liga this season.

That’s according to statisticians Opta, who unsurprisingly point towards Lamine Yamal as the player in question.

Wide-man Lamine is for his part in the midst of a stellar opening to the new campaign.

Continuing to establish himself as one of world football’s standout wingers, the 17-year-old has dazzled from his berth on the right of Barcelona’s frontline.

All told, he has racked up 12 La Liga appearances, chipping in with 12 direct goal contributions.

And, as alluded to above, along the way, Lamine has also proven himself the Spanish top-flight’s leading dribbler.

As revealed by Opta, the Euro 2024 winner, currently sidelined, has attempted more dribbles than any other player in the division this season.

Lamine’s tally of 84 narrowly beats out that of Real Madrid talisman Vinícius Jr, who sits on 82.

Looking further down the list, another Blancos star, in Kylian Mbappé, finds himself 3rd, ahead of Athletic Club attacker Nico Williams, and Las Palmas talent Alberto Moleiro.
