Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois has on Friday provided an update on his injury recovery.
And the news will no doubt be met with excitement on the part of all associated with the La Liga leaders.
This comes with shot-stopper Courtois having revealed his intention to return to training at Valdebebas by the end of April.
Real’s no.1, of course, suffered an untimely setback in his comeback efforts earlier last month.
After ramping up his recovery from an ACL tear suffered all the way back in August, Courtois was forced to limp out of group training a little over two weeks ago.
An ensuing round of medical tests revealed that the Belgian had suffered a ‘ruptured internal meniscus in his right knee’, leaving him with little choice but to go under the knife once more.
The widespread assumption, in turn, was that Courtois had been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest comments on the part of the former Chelsea man himself are anything to go by, then Courtois could yet spring a surprise.
Speaking on the official Twitch channel of Dj Mariio on Friday, Courtois was asked for the latest on his wellbeing.
And the goalkeeper, in his response, confirmed that:
“I’ll be back in team training by the end of the month.”
Should this prove to be the case, it is not out of the question that Courtois could take to the pitch in a competitive setting before the campaign is out.
