Aymeric Laporte expected to be called into Luis Enrique’s Spain squad for Euro 2020

Manchester City centre-back Aymeric Laporte became a Spanish national on Tuesday and could be included in Luis Enrique’s final squad for the European Championship next month.

Laporte is available for selection under FIFA’s latest rule change. The Spanish FA has been instrumental in Laporta’s Spanish nationality application. The former Athletic Club player is very much part of Luis Enrique’s plans and is expected to be named in his final squad this month.

France manager Didier Deschamps is not counting on the defender, according to AS and the 26-year-old’s wish is to play for Spain.
