Atlético starlet included in travelling squad for Dortmund return leg

A highly-regarded member of the youth setup at Atlético Madrid has been included in the club’s travelling squad for their upcoming showdown with Borussia Dortmund.

Atlético, of course, will turn attentions back towards matters on the continent on Tuesday night.

After battling their way to a 2-1 advantage in the tie’s opener last week, the Rojiblancos are set to make the trip to Signal Iduna Park, for the 2nd leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash with the aforementioned Dortmund.

Diego Simeone and his coaching staff will be forced to make do without a number of key players for the matchup, with both Thomas Lemar and Memphis Depay remaining on the sidelines.

Samuel Lino, who notched his side’s decisive 2nd at the Wanda Metropolitano last week, will also be unavailable, through suspension.

And, as alluded to above, as much has opened the door for an up-and-coming Atléti talent to take his place on the plane to Germany.

The capital giants’ travelling squad for Tuesday’s matchup was unveiled a short time ago.

And, alongside Simeone’s host of star names was that of Adrián Niño.

A 19-year-old attacker, Niño has impressed whilst lining out for Atlético Madrid B across the season to date, turning heads on his way to 12 goals and three assists.

It is viewed as altogether unlikely that he will be afforded minutes on the pitch at Signal Iduna Park, but the experience of a high-profile European night will nevertheless prove invaluable for the Spanish youth international moving forward.
