La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have early this week tied up an agreement to add to the club’s attacking ranks for the duration of the season ahead. This comes amid confirmation of a deal being put in place with Juventus for Jonathan David.
The name of frontman David has of course emerged as an altogether prominent one in the media chatter surrounding Atlético Madrid over recent days.
Made available for transfer this summer following an underwhelming debut campaign on the books of the aforementioned Juventus, the Canadian international was recently added to the centre-forward wishlist of those in the boardroom at the Metropolitano.
From here, negotiations over the terms of a season-long loan deal for David were in turn kicked into gear between the parties. And as alluded to above, after the 26-year-old himself gave the green light to a move to La Liga, an accord on the terms of a transfer have on Monday been struck.
As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Jonathan David to Atlético Madrid, here we go! Verbal agreement done with Juventus. Initial loan deal with buy option clause for the Canadian striker who’s set to join Atléti as exclusively revealed last week. Atléti will cover more than 50% of the salary.’
