The board at Atlético Madrid are on the verge of wrapping up a deal for a leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga rivals Girona.
That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Artem Dovbyk as the player in question.
Frontman Dovbyk has of course seen his name take its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital across much of the summer to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the Ukrainian, fresh off clinching the Pichichi award for La Liga’s top scorer last season, had been identified as a priority signing on the part of the aforementioned Atlético.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, the Rojiblancos look all set to get their man.
As per the aforementioned Matteo Moretto of Relevo:
‘Atlético are in a hurry to sign Artem Dovbyk. The agreement with Girona is very close.’
With the personal terms of a contract having long been agreed upon between the parties, it is therefore considered only a matter of time before Dovbyk is unveiled as the latest addition to Diego Simeone’s Atléti ranks.
